 There's something about the shapes in this house design that really grab my eye. Subtle curves and arcs combined with normal boxes and corners. It's the subtlety of the curves that makes this house, I see far too often an architect will get a little carried away when they get curves on their mind. This design however feels like the next evolution in house designs - a little less boxy, but no too extreme.  Aside my thoughts on the shape of the house, the interior is beautiful as well. Modern without being sterile, lots of wood, and very homey. Some very nice outdoor space as well. Expand for some pics, click the link for more info

Well, if you prefer your hotel rooms to have just enough room for the bed, no bathrooms, and be super eco-friendly, the "Tubohotel" might just be for you! The tubohotel is made up of separate sections of concrete pipe, and very little else. Each "room" contains a bed, and some storage space underneath, that's pretty much it. There are public bathhouses as each room isn't big enough for a bathroom, but the point of this hotel is clearly not luxury anyway. This is a neat experiment in eco-friendly design however, and with construction taking about 3 months (which I imagine could be sped up with practice), the designers might even have a good solution for durable temporary housing for disasters. In any case, this is a great example of creative architecture and unique thinking. I might keep looking for a vacation destination, but that's just me. Expand for a couple more pics.

I only have one word for this house: stunning. The Laranjeiras Residence in Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful summer getaway designed by Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados, and features plenty of outdoor space, huge windows providing lots of natural light, beautiful interiors, and to top it off: a nice refreshing infinity pool.  More after the break

What is one supposed to buy when they have too much money? Well, how about a 170ft Yacht with multiple bedrooms, living spaces, and a full kitchen? This is a follow up to this post where all I had was a neat image. Now we have a whole bunch of photos and a link with more info!  The house is known as the Tangga House, is located in Singapore, and is designed by Guz Architects This home is a amazingly well designed home for a nice warm climate, it almost begs you to spend your time outside of the home itself! The corner wrap-around pool has beautiful glass siding that looks even more spectacular at night, and it really what ties the whole thing together. Indoors, in what I assume is the basement, a glass wall gives you an underwater view of the pool, and some nice mood lighting inside. Outside, bamboo roofs and an abundance of greenery give this home a great natural and airy feel, just add frozen margaritas and you've got yourself one heck of a summer day. Click the link for a huge assortment of photos of this beautiful home, or expand for a couple samples

While I'm not sure I'd like to be a citizen in one of these, I would sure like to own one! In either case, this is a very neat idea. Some oil platforms are simply massive, and when the oil's gone, a city could very well pop up in it's place. Practical? Well, maybe not, but a very creative idea nonetheless. Expand for more pics

The "Apollo 11" house is an amazing house in a forest outside Santiago, Chile. This house shows aspects of a rustic cottage and combines them with modern touches and plenty of large windows that make this an amazingly cosy forest home. Oh Apple Apple Apple, you do know how to get press. This time however, it's really well deserved. I know everyone's been drooling over the design for Apple's new "mothership" HQ, but it really does look pretty darn neat. Apple's released some new mockups of how it will look, expand to see a couple!

This is an incredible transformation from cement factory to modern fortress. Looking at the finished exterior covered in vines and various greenery, I can't help but imagine some kind of post-apocalyptic fortified stronghold against invading hoards of nomads, but hey, that's just me.  Before and after pics, as well as more interior pics are after the break
